Will remain at Trinidad ISD after stepping down as coach
TRINIDAD–As he enters his fourth year at Trinidad ISD, Chad Satcher will step down as athletic director/head football coach but will remain at the school.
“It saddens me to announce, due to health-related issues, I have resigned as Trinidad ISD Athletic Director and Coach,” Satcher said on the Trinidad ISD Athletics Facebook page.
The decision was not an easy one for Satcher after he’s spent the last three years building the athletics program at Trinidad High School as he’s carried the Trojans to two playoff appearances in football and a 16-15 overall record in three seasons. Satcher also led the Trojans’ baseball team to a Regional quarterfinal appearance in 2017.
“The past three years have brought me great joy, and I love each and every one of you with all of my heart. This decision was not easy for me and my family, but I know it was what I needed, to be a more productive educator for a much longer period of time. I am not leaving Trinidad, as I want to be a Trojan for a very long time.”
Despite no longer standing next to the athletes, whether it’s on the court or on the football field, Satcher says he’s looking forward to extending his knowledge to the incoming students in the classroom and leaving the Trinidad athletics program in a good place and heading in a promising direction.
“I know I have tons more to offer, and you will continue to receive my very best. I will still be employed at Trinidad ISD, I will just no longer be on the sidelines for the foreseeable future. Trinidad Athletics will be left in very good hands, and I believe the future is brighter than ever for our athletes. Thank you for a wonderful run, and I look forward to seeing you all in the future.”
