Suspect opens fire on home in Windmill Farms
KAUFMAN COUNTY–Kaufman County Investigators are seeking information from the public about a shooting that occurred in the 2100 block of Cedar Park Drive in the Windmill Farms Community May 18 around 6:45 p.m.
Several 9-1-1 calls were made reporting two black males in a newer model gray Dodge Charger with paper tags and black wheels who drove down the 2100 block of Cedar Park shooting a firearm. The passenger is described as a black male wearing a blue mask, short black hair and wearing a white tank top.
One house was struck by a bullet that went through the back door narrowly missing the owner. Another bullet went through the fence of a nearby residence where a family was gathered in the backyard. No injuries were reported.
A young black male has been developed as a person of interest (pictured) wearing a blue shirt and red shorts, also wearing a blue mask, was seen driving a gray or silver Dodge Charger prior to the shooting. There are no charges on this person whom investigators want to identify.
Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release, “This reckless disregard for the safety of our community will not be tolerated. It is incumbent of anyone living in this community with information to come forward – neighbors should look out for one another.
Our citizens should feel safe to enjoy the outdoors, neighbors and community. Parents should not worry about their child being struck by a stray bullet. We need your help. together we can put an end to these violent acts. If you see something – say something.”
