CEDAR CREEK LAKE–The Gun Barrel City and Mabank Police Departments are asking for help in providing a memorable Christmas holiday for the first Team Up 4 Teens program.

Historically, toy and clothes drives focus on the younger children in need and have not provided specifically for older children and teens. Families that struggle financially find it difficult to provide extra funds during the holidays to provide meaningful gifts and support for their teens.

The Gun Barrel City and Mabank Police Departments would like to ask for support in this worthwhile endeavor. It can be difficult to find a little extra to give, but reaching out to a needy teen can make all the difference during the holidays.

"Our program will exercise extreme discretion, and any proceeds will be dispersed with the assistance of our local school counselors. Even the smallest donations do not go unnoticed," said Gun Barrel City Police Chief Jeff Arnswald.

Anyone interested in supporting Team Up 4 Teens program can provide a donation at the Gun Barrel City Police Department or Mabank Police Department, or call and ask for Officer Chambers at 903-887-7151.

The deadline for donations is Tuesday, Dec.11.
