MALAKOFF–The Malakoff Tigers wrapped up an undefeated district schedule with a big 62-0 shutout win over the Eustace Bulldogs Nov. 5 at Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers finished district play without allowing a point as they went 5-0, outscoring their opponents 246-0, including a 17-0 forfeit win over the Kemp Yellowjackets. The Tigers finish the regular season at 8-2 overall.
The Bulldogs wrap up the 2020 season at 2-8 overall and winless in district play.
Duce Hart opened the scoring with an eight-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter to put the Tigers ahead 7-0. Jaylon Hart added a 14-yard touchdown catch just minutes later to increase Malakoff’s lead to 14-0.
The Bulldogs came close in the final minute of the first quarter until an interception by Zack Studley resulted in a touchback to give the Tigers possession with 29 seconds remaining. Darion Peace connected on an 80-yard touchdown pass to Nathan Jones to make it 21-0 with six seconds left in the first quarter.
The Tigers’ defense cashed in early in the second quarter as Lance Robertson blocked a Eustace punt, with Jaylen Mosley picking up the ball and running it in for a touchdown to increase the Malakoff lead to 28-0.
Mosley added a 31-yard touchdown catch 2:35 later to make it 35-0 in favor of Malakoff. Takeenan Langley and Hart each added touchdowns for the Tigers as they finished the first half ahead of the Bulldogs 48-0.
