Two die in Seven Points house fire

HENDERSON COUNTY–Two people lost their lives in a house fire in Seven Points Saturday night.
According to a press release by Henderson County Fire Marshal Shane Renberg, the structure fire was reported at approximately 9:20 p.m. at 701 Quail Run Court. The Seven Points Volunteer Fire Department along with the Tool, Payne Springs and Trinidad Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the fire. During the fire suppression efforts, it was determined that the homeowners were still within the structure.
Eighty-one-year-old Mildred Hitchcock and her 82-year old husband, John, perished in the blaze. Renberg was called to investigate the fire. Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 Kevin Pollock arrived to pronounce the victims deceased and ordered autopsies. Their families were notified.
One Trinidad firefighter and a Seven Points Police officer were injured and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
The fire remains under investigation.
