Vernon Alvis Eilers

Vernon Alvis Eilers, 86 of Seven Points was called to his eternal home by his Lord Dec. 14, 2021 in Waxahachie. 
Alvis was born Feb. 17, 1935 in Hico, Hamilton County to Adolph Gus Eilers and Lydia Annie Eilers. 
He grew up in Hamilton County and March 3, 1955 he married Elsie Lou Thornton at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pottsville. 
Alvis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Alvis worked for Sears, Roebuck & Co. for many years before retirement.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, brothers August Eilers and Awall Eilers, sisters Clara Rasco and Nora Beach.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, daughters Pam Haile of Carrollton and Pat Pierson and her husband Howard of Ovilla, grandchildren Misty Jeffcoat and husband Jamie, Nichole Haile, Krystle Page and husband Steven and Phillip Pierson and wife Tiffany, great-grandchildren Kylan McCoy Scott, Jaymee Jeffcoat, Brianna Haile, Hannah Page and Trey Page and one great-grandson on the way.
Funeral services were held Dec. 20, 2021 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, with burial following at Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster.
The family has designated that memorial contributions may be made to Saint Peter's Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
