Willie Dee Ballard

Willie Dee Ballard was born in Athens to Ealy Nelson Ballard and Gladys Jewel Eddlemon Ballard Jan. 4, 1932 and passed away April 6, 2020 in Dallas.
Willie graduated from Mabank High School and immediately joined the Air Force. He also served in the National Guard. Willie was an attorney in private practice, followed by a career as an attorney in public service.  He was a member of the Hella Shrine and enjoyed being involved in community organizations. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Willie is survived by his wife of 59 years Jessie Mae Jeffrey Ballard of Dallas, son Blake Ballard and wife Judy of Searcy, Ark., daughter Lisa Sterling and husband David of Dallas, grandchildren Reagan and Reid Sterling, sisters Dorothy Hunter of Mabank and Jo Stone and husband Arlis of Grand Saline and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Internment services will take place at the DFW National Cemetery at a future date with a private family service.
