It is with great sadness the family of Glen R. Stout tells of his recent passing Feb. 26, 2024 in Mabank.
Glen passed at home with Claire at his side. They had just celebrated their 68th anniversary on Valentine’s Day. 
Glen was born March 10, 1934 in Patterson, Iowa to Glen and Ola (Alexander). He met Claire in El Paso while serving at Ft. Bliss Army Base. 
He took great pride in serving his country. Daughter Elizabeth followed Military interest serving the Army and youngest son Ted chose United States Marines.
After his military service he returned to his job at Northern Natural Gas. Later, he worked with WMT TV stations until joining the video part of the business which he eventually took over. Years later, he retired and moved Claire to the Dallas area. 
Children Timothy Lee, Todd Raymond and daughter Elizabeth Helen were born in Atlantic, Iowa. Youngest child Ted Monroe was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 
Grandchildren are Jeramiah Lee (Cassie), Sam, Ty, Aromi, Ted, Grant and Chase and great-grandchildren are Everleigh and Henleigh.
Glen loved and enjoyed his family, attending his children’s sporting events including football, basketball, track and swimming. He also loved hunting, fishing and raising Labrador Retrievers.
Glen enjoyed working with young men in the Boy Scouts of America as Scout Master, no matter race or creed. He also taught Bible Class for young men at his Church.
Glen had a beautiful singing voice and he and Claire enjoyed church choirs together and when moving to Texas sang in the Avanti Choir and the Van Zandt County Choir in trips to Austin. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church.
Glen enjoyed work, even at age 80 he designed and built his own backyard tree house.
Preceding in death were his parents, sister Wanda and husband By Phillips. 
He is survived by sister Sheila McGuire, Pa.
He donated his body to Science, UT Dallas. A memorial service was held March 15, 2024.
