Layne Gordon, 62, passed away Aug. 19, 2023, at his home in Mabank. He was born Dec. 29, 1960 in Dallas to parents Jim and Constance (Perkins) Gordon.  
Layne married his beloved wife Evelyn Phelphrey Gordon May 29, 2009. His devotion of 15 years was unwavering. Their bond was built on a deep love that weathered all the storms that life presented them with and she was with him until the end.
He worked for Beard Integrated Systems. He loved spending his time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great nephews. Layne loved the Lord, reading his Bible and working with the prison ministry. He deeply loved his church, friends, family and coworkers. 
Layne was preceded by his father, son Eric Gordon, daughter Teresa Garrison and brothers-in-law George and Carl Pelphrey.
He is survived by his wife, mother, daughters Holly Gordon and Tammy Rodriquez and husband Felipe, son Jesse Garrison, grandchildren  Tyler Loggins, Kalyn Loggins, TJ Powers and wife Hali, Amy Orantees and husband Ian, Isaac Rodriquez, Hunter Garrison, Kylie Garrison and Kade Garrison, great-grandchildren Zayden Layne Loggins, Lilly Powers and Tate Powers, sisters Ron Gordon Burelsmith and husband Brady and Toni Sellers Inglis, brother Jimmy Speak, nieces Kaleigh Burelsmith and Leslie Moore and husband Adam, great-nephews Bobby Whitlock and Bralynn Whitlock, great-niece Brooklyn Moore and numerous other church family, friends, co-workers and loved ones.
