Body

Ms. Patsy Black, 88, of Gun Barrel City, went peacefully into the night July 22, 2023 at home.
Patsy was born in Handley Feb. 21, 1935 to her loving parents Benjamin and Alice Jones.
At a young age Patsy was active, she played baseball and volleyball. Rode bikes and skated from downtown to Marsales Zoo. In High School Patsy would march in parades from Downtown to Fair Park.
Patsy married young, but never regretted her family. Some of her proudest moments were her kids joining the military or graduating school and having careers. She was proud that she could help out young girls with life skills as being a Girl Scout Leader.
Patsy was proud of her accomplishments as well. She was elected to City Council in Gun Barrel City and named Volunteer of the Year.
Patsy was always involved in the city one way or another, either it was EDC – Beautification Committee or helping with the Christmas Parades with the City Council. Patsy was a joy to be around.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 29, 2023. Patsy was laid to rest in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
