Texie Lee Griffin of Corsicana finally made it home April 9, 2024. She had waited over 94 years for this day. Texi was born to William E. Lee Garrett and Fredora “Dora” Tully Garrett Aug. 14, 1929, in Deport. Texie was the youngest of William and Dora’s children.
Texie was preceded in death by her parents,  siblings Jack Garrett, Icie Garrett Baker, J. L. Garrett Phillips, Tom Garrett, J. E. “B” Garrett, R. L. “Spooky” Garrett. She also had four siblings that passed away as very young children. Twins R. T. and R. A. Garrett, William Jr. and Iva Agnes Clementine Garrett. The siblings that reached adulthood all passed away in order of their birth, oldest to youngest, Texie being the last one.
She is survived by sons Tom Duke and wife Brenda of Hot Springs, Ark., John Duke and wife Marilyn of Mabank, David Duke of Mabank and Ralph Duke and wife Laurie of Midlothian. 
Texie was known as Ma-Maw and is also survived by grandchildren Deanna Tompkins and husband Joel, Tommy Duke and wife Tanya, Tracie Dobbs and husband Clayton, Chris Duke and wife Erin, Michael Duke and wife Amber, Hannah James and husband Brian, Caleb Duke and wife Cierra, Rachel Duke and Timothy Duke, as well as great-grandchildren Dewey, Madison, Easton, Skyler, Alec, Damien, Willow, Parker, Sammy and Finley, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
