KAUFMAN–Kaufman ISD Board of Trustees member Brian Townsend was arrested by the Kaufman Police Department Aug. 24. 
Townsend was pulled over by a Kaufman PD officer on East U.S. 175 in Kaufman near FM 1390 around 1 a.m. according to a Kaufman PD incident report. 
While details of the traffic stop are not available, the report did show that Townsend was arrested for possession of marijuana (less than 2 oz.) and drug paraphernalia. 
The Kaufman ISD Board of Trustees released a statement regarding the arrest. 

TOOL-The City of Tool held their monthly council meeting Aug. 21. The three agenda items that brought the most curiosity to citizens were actions to be taken against City Administrator Julius Kizzee and council members Vera Bennett and Daniel Sayre. Each item was set to be discussed in executive session, but Bennett and Kizzee invoked the right to have the discussions in public.

The volunteers of Payne Springs Fire Rescue were alerted to a Motor Vehicle Crash on Meandering Way in Mabank during the afternoon of Aug. 30. Units arrived to find one vehicle that had slid into some trees and a fence post. One person had minor injuries.
