Mabank High School welcomes the Class of 2026 back to school with the annual Senior Sunrise Aug. 13. The senior class comes together with family, friends and staff to enjoy breakfast and fellowship and of course the sunrise to start the senior year.

John Allen Manning

John Allen Manning, 84, of Mabank passed away Aug. 14, 2025. He was the husband of Ralaine Reynolds Manning.
Born July 10, 1941, in Edmond, Okla., John was the son of the late John Palmer Manning and Martha Lee Allen Manning.
John attended Mabank Public Schools, graduating in 1959. After graduation, he attended HCJC (TVCC) for two years. He then enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served two years before being Honorably Discharged.

Mabank Independent School District (MISD) Superintendent Dr. Russell Marshall enters the stage to the upbeat music of “Don’t Stop Believin’”by Journey during the district’s convocation held Aug. 11. The annual convocation is held to welcome faculty and staff members back from summer break with fun and inspiring messages to begin the school year. Marshall thanked everyone for their commitment to MISD and also challenged them by saying, “One of us is not as strong as all of us.”
