Judge McKinney testifies in Austin

Henderson County Judge Wade McKinney (left) testifies Aug. 1 during a Texas Senate Committee on Local Government hearing about Senate Bill 9, which would lower the voter-approval tax rate for cities and counties from 3.5% to 2.5%. That means any property tax increase above 2.5% would require voter approval.

Christopher Troy Rogers

Christopher Troy Rogers, 58, passed away Aug. 9, 2025. Troy was born Jan. 3, 1967, in Aransas Pass, to Chet and Irene Rodriquez Rogers.
Troy started working at a young age as a shrimper and commercial fisherman on numerous boats out of Conn Brown Harbor. He moved to Cedar Creek Lake area, where he became an expert tree specialist.
Troy was tough, fearless, fierce and loving all wrapped up in one man. He never met a stranger and could light up a room with his smile.
