Pen was born April 3, 1933 to Glen and Alleta McBride in Balch Springs. He had three brothers and one sister.
Pen graduated from Mesquite High School in 1951. 
He married Marlene Iglewski in 1952. They had daughters Barbara Jean, Teresa Gail and Penny Faye. 
Marlene passed from this life in 1978 and Penny passed away in 1995.
During Pen’s life he served in the Navy Reserve and had an honorable discharge in 1955.
Pen became a Dallas Fireman in 1955. He worked as a driver Engineer on the ladder truck for 23 years. 
He received several awards from the fire department. He was a fireman for 33 years and loved his job protecting others and his friends. The fire department was like his second family.
Pen moved to the Cedar Creek Lake area in 1980. He married Judith West in 1980. She had daughters Tina Marie, Linda Sue and Jean Anne.
Boating and fishing were a big part of his life. He liked going to the horse races and gardening.
Pen and Judi have lived at the lake for 44 years. Between the two God has blessed them with six daughters, six sons-in-law, 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and other relatives who have been a great blessing.
Pen loved playing games with his family and going to the fire department dinners with his retired fireman friends. He will be missed by many friends and family that loved him dearly. God called him home Jan. 11, 2024.
