HENDERSON COUNTY–Unofficial November election results have been released by Henderson County, naming new officials in Gun Barrel City and Tool.
After months of the position sitting vacant, Brian Crull has been elected mayor of Gun Barrel City, winning the election 390 votes to Debbie DeLeon’s 282.
Crull has been a full-time resident of Gun Barrel City for four years. Crull ran for office on a platform of reshaping local government. “I love this town we live in and I feel a lack of strong leadership has left our community divided and our government unproductive,” Crull states.
Crull brings to the position 35 years of community leadership, including serving on the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission and as a board member for the Economic Development Corporation, where Crull says he has helped to bring in new business and strengthen existing businesses.
Crull states that the main challenge faced by Gun Barrel City is bringing in good businesses that will attract more sales to ensure first responders, roads and city services can meet residents’ needs, funded through sales tax dollars.
Crull promises to collaborate with citizens in leading the city, making every resident part of the discussion.
Tool voters elected uncontested candidate Mike Dumont as the city’s mayor. In council elections, seats were filled by incumbent Michael Fladmark with 188 votes and write-in candidate Vera Bennett with 175 votes.
Local propositions in Seven Points were approved in this election, as well.
