Body

Gary Bernard Miller passed away peacefully Jan. 18, 2024. He was quick to lend a hand or to share his wit and his naturally honest smile.
He was a beloved husband and father and a valued member of his church and community.
Gary was born in Napa, Calif., Aug. 19, 1939 to Benjamin and Pearl Miller. He spent his youth in Napa going to school, working at an early age and spending time at the lake fishing or working on cars until enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1957 at the age of 18.
Naturally mechanically inclined, he took his knowledge of motors to the Air Force and applied it to jet engines. During his 20 year career he served in Vietnam and started a family, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1977. He enjoyed his time in the Air Force and was proud of his service.
Gary moved to North Texas after retirement to raise the family and began another career of service as a Postal Carrier, which he enjoyed for 22 years. He lived out his dream of living on the lake with his wife Linda, fishing and working on his classic cars. He was very active in his church, singing in the choir and maintaining the church and grounds. He also donated his time and skill to Labor of Love, building access ramps for over 180 families.
Gary was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Allen Miller.
He is survived by his wife Linda Miller, son David Miller, stepson Douglas Nardi, grandchildren Blake Miller and wife Maria and Malerie Silos and husband Oscar, grandchildren Jake and Adam Nardi, great-grandchildren Banjo and Rory Miller and siblings Micheal (Sue) Miller and Nancy (Jeff) Record and sister-in-law Mary Stuart.
There will be a memorial service for Gary at Cedar Creek Lake United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024. The service will be broadcast for those unable to attend on Facebook cedarcreeklakeumc
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cedar Creek Lake United Methodist Church located at 100 South Old Indian Trail in Tool.
