Karen Lynn Butterfield Madison, 61, Topeka, Kan., passed away Nov. 16, 2023.
Karen was born May 9, 1961, in Topeka, to Karolyn Sharp and Max Butterfield. She was a 1979 graduate of Shawnee Heights High School and earned her paralegal associate degree from Washburn University.
On Sept. 20, 1991, Karen and her beloved Darrell Madison were united in marriage enjoying 30 years together prior to his death July 18, 2021.
Karen was an auditor for the State of Kansas in the Dept. of Children and Families and a member of Grace Cathedral. She was amazingly intelligent, cherished her family, had a wicked sense of humor and loved deeply. She will be greatly missed.
Karen was proceeded in death by her precious Papa Oren Sharp.
She is survived by her parents, son Andrew Madison, cousins and niece who blessed her with their loving care, Donna Hoeschele, Jamma Logan and Katheryn Long and sister Annette Long.
Karen’s funeral service was held Dec. 2, 2023 at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ascend Hospice sent in care of the funeral home.
