Louise Reece Galloway resided for 30 years in Star Harbor before her unexected passing recently.
She moved here from San Angelo and Bartlesville, Okla., with her husband Harlan and they joined the First Baptist Church in Malakoff and participated in many many activites Cedar Creek Lake offers.
Educated and married in Altus, Okla., Louise was born at a time of incredible difficulties, at a period in time when making gut-wrenching choices was frequent.
Her husband to be off to WWII must have been unbearable. But she learned through the struggles, she did not argue nor did she allow others to argue around her.
Louise and Harlan reared three sons and a daughter during the turmoil of the 50s and 60s  and because of her unwavering graciousness she made it look easy.
Always confident in her abilities, always demonstrating impeccable fashion and timing and more importantly she could separate issues and know what was really important.
Louse is the very definition of a “lady.” Donna Reed could take a lesson. June Cleaver couldn’t compare and she had the resources of a Hollywood Studio.
Not known for drama her struggles she worked out privately, including her death.
I never heard her raise her voice, not even once. A class act in every way. A terrific example for other women and girls who knew her and a mystery to the men and boys who knew her.
Louise was born June 9, 1930 and passed away May 30, 2023. She is with Daddy now. “siht ekil tnod I”
Louise was preceded in death by all her siblings, in-laws and many many friends. Louise is the last of the Ira J. and Irma Reece generation of Altus, Okla.
She will be missed by children Craig, David, Scott and Lou Ann, daughters-in-law Sue and Toni, grandchildren Jason, Christopher and Whitney and their spouses Angie and Stephanie along with her extended family grandchildren Stefanie and Jennifer who she loved all unconditionally and a tribe of great-grandchildren Preston, Caylee, Mason, Morgan, Tatum, Logan and Emmy plus the seven -” J’s” and three Fites.
A graveside service was held June 2, 2023 at Malakoff Cemetery under the direction of Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff.
