Celebration of life services for Richard Lawrence Diana, 79, of Gun Barrel City were held March 4, 2024, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Richard was born Sept. 21, 1944, in Springville, N.Y. to Phil Diana and Josephine Mildred (Fachitti) Diana. He grew up in New York where he graduated from high school before joining the army and proudly serving this country for four years in active duty.
Then Richard joined the Army National Guard followed by the Air Force National Guard for a grand total of 28 years of service to America.  While Richard served in the guard, he also worked with American Airlines doing load balances for airplanes to help keep everyone safe during flights.
Richard was also blessed to meet his soulmate in Janniene who he married in January of 2005 and shared 19 wonderful years with. Together they enjoyed retirement by traveling on their Harley Trike to Canada and being gatekeepers for oil rigs in their RV.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and great-grandson Heath Bragg.
He is survived by his beloved wife, son Paul Diana and wife Blake, daughters Lisa Walker, Tonya Self, Cindy England and husband, Chris and Rhonda Baggott, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, sister Jackie Connolly and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
