William “Elick” Baxter was born May 27, 1936, in Olney. He departed this life April 28, 2024, at the age of 87. He was the second child born to Jack and Edith Baxter.
Elick worked at various jobs during his life, including years in the oil drilling fields of the Rocky Mountain States. He worked as a custom home builder in the Dallas – Fort Worth area before moving to the Cedar Creek Lake area, where he has been for over fifty years. 
Before long, he began his own business as a concrete construction contractor until retiring in 2010.
Elick was preceded in death by his parents and brother Don Baxter. 
He is survived by his wife of over thirty years Shirley McDaniel Baxter, sons Joe Baxter and wife Charlotte, Tim Baxter and wife Barbie and Thomas McDaniel and wife Misty, daughter Robbi Tupper, brothers James Baxter of Virginia and Ray Baxter of Florida, sister Pam Bowen of Gun Barrel City, grandchildren Jason Baxter, Laci Baxter, Nathan Baxter and Ashley Tupper and great-grand Brylee Baxter.
Through the many years living in this area, Elick has made and maintained many business and personal friends.
