Gun Barrel City breaks ground for the new community center Aug. 28. City Manager Dr. Angie Smith spoke, “The community center will be home to an indoor gym with a sports court, indoor and outdoor restrooms, an emergency operations center, it will have an indoor event space with warming kitchen and an outdoor patio for events.” The project should be completed by June 2025. In attendance for the ground breaking are Henderson County Precinct 2 Commissioner Scott Tuley, Gun Barrel City Mayor Brian Crull, council members, members of the Gun Barrel City Beautification Committee and Gun Barrel City Economic Development Corporation.
