Kemp High School seniors Natalie Orton (from left) and Monica Oldenkamp each receive the Billie Jean Hannah Stingerette Scholarship, Kemp ISD announced May 26. The school district says the honor recognizes each student's dedication, leadership and commitment to the Stingerette program. The scholarship is named after the former Stingerette coach who later directed the drill team at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, the Cardettes.

Eustace junior Landry Huggins advances to the Class 3A girls' golf State championship at Austin's Jimmy Clay Golf Course May 4-5 after winning Regional runner-up at the Class 3A Region 2 tournament held April 15-16 in Bullard, shooting an 80 and 82, totaling 162 for the Regional. Huggins also competed at last year's Class 3A State Golf Championship in Austin.
