Eustace ISD announces Interim Superintendent

Randy Perry is named Eustace Independent School District Interim Superintendent. Aug. 1 will be Perry’s first day with the district. 

EUSTACE–The Board of Trustees for the Eustace Independent School District called a special meeting July 26. Dr. Julia McMains has accepted a position in Canadian, Texas as the district superintendent therefore, the meeting was to discuss and consider approval of an Interim Superintendent. 
The board voted to have Randy Perry serve as the Interim Superintendent while the search begins for a superintendent. Perry is a field service agent for the Region 7 Education Service Center. Prior to working with Region 7 Perry was the superintendent for Malakoff ISD from 2011- 2019 and from 2006 – 2019 Perry was the Malakoff High School Principal.
According to a resolution made at the State Capitol upon Perry’s retirement, June 30, 2019: 
Perry joined Malakoff ISD 13 years ago, and he served as principal of Malakoff High for five years before assuming the position of district superintendent in 2011; over the course of his tenure, Malakoff ISD has received two Blue Ribbon School awards, one for Malakoff Elementary in 2015 and the other for Tool Elementary in 2016, and both of the district’s elementary schools have been honored by the U.S. Department of Education as high-performing and high-progress Title I schools; moreover, all of the Malakoff ISD campuses have earned far above the “met standard” requirement from the Texas Education Agency.
Perry will report to Eustace ISD as the Interim Superintendent August 1.
