Eustace welcomes new Assistant Superintendent

EUSTACE–The board of trustees for the Eustace Independent School District (ISD) met March 24 for their regular session. Awards and recognitions were a substantial part of the meeting. Superintendent Brandi Dyer introduced the new Assistant Superintendent Sam Perry. Dyer presented Perry by saying, “Mr. Perry comes to us from Graham. He is currently the middle school principal in Graham. He has done a really good job there. We can’t wait until he gets to start with us.” Perry said he was excited to be here. According to the Eustace ISD website Perry grew up in Terrell. He attended Texas A&M University and Sam Houston State University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in history and second education. Perry went on to teach and coach in Willis ISD and Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. He earned his Master’s degree in education administration and his superintendent certification from Lamar University. Perry was the director of secondary teaching and learning in Breckenridge ISD before moving to Graham ISD. President of the board of trustees Scot Bonner said, “We are glad to have you here. Welcome to Eustace.” In other business, trustees: • Approved interlocal agreement with the City of Eustace for the School Trustee Election on May 3. • Approved making Eustace ISD students’ breakfasts and lunches free. • Approved a budget amendment to move funds from teacher travel to student travel.
