CEDAR CREEK LAKE–Lake-area fire and police departments held their annual Procession of Lights Sept. 11 during Patriot Day to honor those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on New York City, The Pentagon and United Airlines Flight 93, including first responders who died in the line of duty.
The annual procession started at Gun Barrel City, then went through Seven Points, Tool, Trinidad, Malakoff, Caney City, Log Cabin and Payne Springs. The route went along State Highways 334, 274, 31 and 198.
Over 25 agencies and 40 apparatus participated in the annual event which grows each year.
