Drone shows have become a popular alternative to firework shows in recent years. The City of Dallas has had drone shows against the Dallas skyline during Christmas and New Years.

GUN BARREL CITY–Residents of Cedar Creek Lake are getting ready to enjoy the upcoming July Fest to be held July 30 at the Gun Barrel City Park. Historically, a firework show is displayed for attendees to enjoy but the recent disaster declaration made by Henderson County has changed the festivals plans.
“Due to the severe weather conditions, we will no longer be able to enjoy a firework show at July Fest but here is the good news, in place of the firework show we will be lighting up the sky during July Fest with a stunning drone light show,” the city stated on social media July 23.
What is a drone light show you ask? Drone light shows are performed by illuminated, synchronized and choreographed groups of drones that arrange themselves into various aerial formations. Almost any image can be recreated in the sky by a computer program that turns graphics into flight commands and communicates them to the drones. Drone shows have been becoming more popular for city displays and in lieu of a firework show.
Don’t miss out on the fun and help Gun Barrel City light up the night at July Fest July 30.
