CEDAR CREEK LAKE–Jordan Roofing has gifted a new roof to a deserving individual every year for the last five years and the 2022 recipient was Terri Dunn.
Dunn, a mother with four young children, moved into her childhood home while rebuilding her life after a divorce. The house had sat vacant for 15 years and had fallen into a state of disrepair. Dunn, who worked as an assistant manager for Vernon’s Lakeside, was well known to her customers as a friendly, outgoing person who was always ready to help others. “I loved providing the very best experience for my customers,” she said.
So when Jordan Roofing posted on social media, seeking nominations for their annual “Santa Roof,” owner David Jordan received many replies nominating Dunn. “My co-workers had already been so generous helping me out and then this was just so wonderful,” Dunn said of the roof provided to her.
Jordan and his crew completed the 2,000 square foot roof Jan. 26.  Dunn had already completed several major projects to prepare the home for her family including clearing land, leveling the structure, plumbing and electrical work. After living with her mother, she moved her children, ages four, six, nine and 14, into the home August 2022. Until the roof was completed in January, tarps kept out the rain.
Dunn, who works at the Mabank Truck Yard now, is grateful for Jordan and all those who showed her what a great community looks like.
