Military and overseas voters: Register and make a plan to vote

KAUFMAN–With the 2024 Presidential Election fast approaching, the Kaufman County Elections Department would like to remind all active military and overseas voters of their registration and voting options and encourage all voters to make a plan to vote today.  
If you are a voter under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA), you have options for how you register and vote in Texas.  
UOCAVA voters who need to update their voter registration information, or would like to register to vote for the first time, may fill out and return the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) found at www.fvap.gov.   
• Use any official voter registration form to register online, by mail or in person  
• Request a paper voter registration form be mailed to you. Email your request to 
elections@kaufmancounty.net  
• Fill out and return Use the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot (FWAB) 
Completed absentee ballot request forms must be received by the Kaufman County Elections Department on or before Friday, Oct. 25. Voters are encouraged to email, mail, or fax their applications early to allow enough time to reach our office.  
Overseas voters needing additional assistance may email elections@kaufmancounty.net or call (469) 376-4595.  The Federal Voting Assistance Program also provides guidance on the process to vote if you will be out of the country at the time of the election. 
“I am grateful that military service members and U.S. citizens living abroad will be able to cast their ballot in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election. My office is prepared to serve those who are serving this country and protecting democracy abroad,” Election Administrator Tandi Smith said.
