A kitchen fire results in significant damage to a doublewide Sunday morning in the Golden Oaks Subdivision. PSFR was assisted by Gun Barrel City Fire Department.

PAYNE SPRINGS–Payne Springs Fire Rescue (PSFR) responded to a structure fire at 6:26 a.m. in the Golden Oaks Subdivision. Firefighters arrived to find a doublewide with smoke inside according to reports on the department’s social media.
Crews were alerted that there had been a fire on the stove which spread to the cabinets and the ceiling, then opened up the ceiling to get all of the hot spots, perform overhaul and then ventilate the structure.
PSFR was assisted by Gun Barrel City Fire and the American Red Cross was notified to assist the resident. There were no injuries reported in the incident. Eustace Fire Department was also responding but was canceled by command according to the report.
