MABANK– The 11th Semi-Annual Mabank Car Truck Motorcycle Boat and Offroad Show is slated for April 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Market Street. The event is brought by local organizations Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Big Deal Burger, WingBoss, Yourhouse4mycash.com and The Catering Guy LLC and all proceeds from the event will go to Texas 501(c)3 charity Feed the Hungry Corporation.
Feed the Hungry’s mission began over a decade ago when director Guy New opened a Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. “As our business grew, we realized more and more that hunger is a huge issue for the poor, even in nice neighborhoods. In fact, statistics show that every community in the country is home to people who struggle with hunger daily.”
From this realization, the semi-annual charity event was born. Since the first show, the event has been free to the public and all donations have gone to charity.
In February 2019, Feed the Hungry Corporation was recognized as a Texas nonprofit agency and received its tax-exempt status, increasing its ability to serve the community. In addition to feeding those in need free meals multiple days per year, the nonprofit has been able to provide groceries, clothing, counseling, utility bill payments, gift cards and fellowship in partnership with local churches, food banks, counselors, etc.
This event will feature the car, truck, boat and ATV show, as well as local vendors, entertainment, family fun and food, and New states that all hotrods, motorcycles, ATVs and other vehicles are welcome. Winners will receive plaques commemorating their win in various categories: first place, second place, best of show, club award, and first 50 vehicles. Registration begins at 10 a.m.
Anyone interested in sponsoring the event or setting up a booth can do so by contacting Dickey’s Barbecue Pit by emailing DickeysMabank@gmail.com or calling (903) 880-4141. Multiple sponsorship packages are available.
