Cody Strickland
Cody Strickland, 34, passed away peacefully July 28, 2024 at his home in Forestburg. Cody was born July 5, 1990 in Dallas and was raised in Malakoff.
He attended Malakoff High School and graduated in 2009.
Cody loved to play card games, he loved to listen to a vast assortment of music he collected on his I-Tunes and watch horror and action-packed movies.
He loved to color and he loved to share all his thoughts and activities he had or was doing. Really, he loved to talk to everyone.
Cody was a man after GOD. He went to church every Sunday and Wednesday. He did this on his own. He never waited around for someone to get him there. He did the research and he found the church and got himself the ride to get there.
Cody would have traveled the world if he could have. Now you are little brother, now you are.
1. John 14:1-3: “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
You’ll always be missed since from us you did depart but know we all will hold you dear to our heart.
Cody was preceded in death by his father Emmett Doyle Strickland, mother Jerri Strickland, grandfather Jack Strickland and grandmother Tyra Strickland.
He is survived by sister Sandra Vanderwiel, nephews Ryan and Aaron Prendergast and brothers William and Shannon Strickland and multiple nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024 at Gun Barrel City Park located at 301 Municipal Dr. in Gun Barrel City.
