Rosemary Dean Farme
Rosemary Dean Farmer was an extraordinary woman. Rosemary was born in 1927 and raised in Rushville, Ill. and passed away peacefully in Dallas Sept. 11, 2024.
Rosemary’s journey in life was guided by her love of family and friends and her career as a dedicated teacher.
Rosemary’s greatest joy came from her family, whom she cherished above all else.
She was a devoted wife to Giles Farmer for 65 years who preceded her in death and caring sister of John Dean who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by sister Shirley Kost of Browning, Ill., sons Stephen Farmer of Chicago, Ill., Don Farmer and wife Fran of Mabank and David Farmer and wife Barb of Dallas, grandchildren Ryan and wife Marin, Justin and wife Ashley, Jason and wife Eden, Macy Farmer and Carly and husband James Proett, great-granddaughters Nora Grace, Emmerson Jane, Holland Rose, Delaney Anne, Riley Marie and Dayton Eileen with two more great-grandchildren on the way.
Rosemary’s love of teaching, which spanned 25 years, continued in retirement in her community at Cedar Creek Lake where she and Giles lived for over 20 years.
She was an active member of the Pinnacle Women’s Club, Friends of the Library and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
She held various roles in the Coast Guard Auxiliary including Commander of Flotilla 514. She attended First Presbyterian Church of Mabank and Pinnacle Church.
Rosemary was a graduate of Western Illinois and North Texas State Universities.
Rosemary never missed the opportunity to reach out to enrich, educate or inspire others. The moments she spent with her great-granddaughters were truly a highlight of her life and theirs.
Her smile said it all each time she hugged them, shared a story, made them trail mix or gathered items for her famous Christmas stockings which everyone looked forward to receiving.
Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her love and kindness.

Rosemary’s life will be celebrated with a family graveside service.
