The Gun Barrel City Community Center is making progress. Currently, site paving is in progress, marking another important step in building this much-anticipated facility for the community. According to the city’s website the most recent paving pour, originally scheduled earlier, but postponed due to weather conditions, took place March 7. The anticipated completion date for the Community Center is Monday, Sept. 8, with a mandated final completion date of Wednesday, Oct. 22. The city notes that as with all outdoor construction, the schedule is weather-dependent and could shift as needed. The community center will feature several key facilities, including multipurpose rooms, a basketball court, and more to serve all of Gun Barrel City. The Community Center is located on Municipal Drive in Gun Barrel City, across from the park.
