Edward Francis Sr. and Helen Lois DeLoach welcomed their son Edward, Jr. (Ed) to the world Jan. 8, 1932, in West Monroe, La. His death Aug. 2, 2025, darkened the skies for those who loved this gentle soul known for his kind heart, an infectious sense of humor, a commitment to church and community, and a passion for fishing and golf. 
Ed graduated from Ouachita Parish High School and completed both his undergraduate and post graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University and served a tour in the United States Navy during the Korean War receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal with two stars and the China Service Medal. 
The 73 year love story between Ed and Flora Aulsine Coates began Dec. 27, 1951, in Monroe, La., culminating in the birth of daughter Lois Kathleen and three adopted children Janice Lee, Lisa Ann and James Randall. 
During their professional careers they enjoyed traveling and became weekenders on Cedar Creek Lake in the mid-1960s. 
After his retirement from E-Systems, they moved permanently to the lake area and in 1997 built and moved into their dream home in the Pinnacle Golf Club. Aulsine was one of the founding members of the Pinnacle Women’s Club in 1998 and Ed was instrumental in the creation of the Pinnacle Golf Association, both organizations still flourishing with commitments to sustain and grow the community.
The unshakable partnership between the couple was built day by day, through every joy and challenge, creating a lifetime of love flowing like a waltz as they moved together in the same pattern, face-to-face, arm-in-arm never questioning their rhythm. Ed was his family’s North, South, East and West and his passing is profoundly felt as they grieve. Sometimes tears are the best words the heart can speak, but one day healing remembrances will soothe the ache, and they will be able to look at a photo or recall a moment that puts a smile back on their faces. 
Ernest Hemingway said the details of how a man lived distinguishes one man from another suggesting his legacy lies in the path he treads as he weaves a story uniquely his own. 
Edward Francis DeLoach, Jr. left an indelible mark on everyone he touched – never to be erased, removed, or forgotten. May he rest in peace. 
His parents, daughter Lois Kathleen and son James Randall preceded him in death but his legacy is carved in the hearts of those he left behind – his wife Aulsine, daughters Jan Compton and husband Del and Lisa Wallen, grandchildren Josh Compton, Amanda Gallaway and husband Scott, Eva Pearl and husband David and Rachel Jerry and husband Jeremy, great-grandchildren Oliver Gallaway, Eleanor Gallaway, Will Pearl, Brandon Pearl, Emily Pearl, Bryce Jerry and wife Emily, Abigail Jerry, Sophie Jerry and Lilly Jerry.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 20, 2025, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
