Kaufman County schools receive TEA ratings

KAUFMAN COUNTY–The Texas Education Agency (TEA) recently release their accountability ratings for the 2024-25 school year.
While a few schools in Kaufman County fared well, a few saw their ratings dip since 2020. 
Kaufman ISD, Mabank ISD and Scurry-Rosser ISD all received B overall ratings with Mabank scoring the highest with an overall score of 85. Their student achievement score was at an 82. 
Kaufman ISD finished second overall at 84 with a student achievement score of 80. Scurry-Rosser ISD had an 83 overall score with a student achievement score of 82. 
In the C rating category were both Terrell and Forney ISD. Forney ISD received an overall score of 79 while Terrell ISD finished with 71. In student achievement scores, Forney received a 79 as well with Terrell finishing at a 68. Terrell ISD also had the most percentage of economically disadvantaged students at 77.6 percent. 
Rounding out Kaufman County was Crandall ISD at a 69 overall score for a D with Kemp ISD finishing at 68 overall. Crandall ISD finished with a C rating in student achievement at a 70 while Kemp ISD had a 67.
