During the morning hours of Dec. 16, the volunteers of Payne Springs Fire Rescue (PSFR) were alerted for a structure fire with possible entrapment in the Golden Oaks subdivision. PSFR Chief 1 arrived to find a singlewide mobile home with heavy fire showing and exposures threatened. Everyone had made it out of the structure with only minor injuries. PSFR Engine 3 arrived and made a quick knockdown on the fire while protecting the exposures. PSFR was assisted on scene by Gun Barrel City Fire Department, Eustace Fire Department, UT Health EMS, American Red Cross and the Henderson County Fire Marshal. PSFR would like to remind everyone to please use extreme caution with space heaters and make sure you have working smoke detectors in your house.
