The Gun Barrel Quilters Guild holds their annual quilt show May 1 at the CR Legacy Event Center in Gun Barrel City. Gun Barrel City Mayor Brian Crull (second from left) and wife Bridgette stopped in to see the beautiful works of art. Pictured with Mayor Crull is Carolyn Fackler (from left), Addie Penix, Melinda Adams and Quilters Guild President Angie Simkins.

The Monitor is honored to select Media Choice at the Gun Barrel Quilt Show. The beautiful quilt that is selected has a sense of community and friendship. Cynthia Allen took pieces from a block exchange, each block has the name and date of who stitched the piece. Allen then took the pieces and created the lovely quilt. Allen received a ribbon for her creation May 1.
