Barbara Lee Pierce, 85, passed away Sept. 11, 2022. She was born Dec. 12, 1936, in Gainesville to parents William Lee Shell and Lizybell Ellen Cook Shell.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, watching old TV shows and especially telling Papa what to do. She was a strong, independent and unique woman that will be greatly missed by friends and family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty Joyce Drain and grandson Jess Dale Wyatt.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Joe Darrell Pierce, sister Janie Pearce and husband Johnny, children Rick Wyatt and wife Julie, David Wyatt and wife Laurie, Nettie Hinton, Darrell Pierce and Teresa Gibson, 14 grandchildren, an abundance of great-grandchildren and a countless amount of friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Grandma’s favorite Charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
A graveside service was held Sept. 14, 2022 at Elm Grove Cemetery in Mabank with Ricky Wyatt officiating for the Pierce family.
