Barbara Womble Hill, 86, passed away Dec. 10, 2023 in Eustace.
Barbara Womble Hill was born July 13, 1937 in Eustace and grew up on the family homestead.  
She settled in Mabank where she spent the last 59 years of her life. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She spent her working years as a Drafting Specialist for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. During her time there she helped draft the telephone line blueprint for Dallas and surrounding areas. 
Barbara spent her retirement years reading, watching soap operas and attending her grandchildren’s school functions and sporting events with her husband Charles. 
Barbara lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents. Her dishes and desserts were always the highlight of family gatherings. She also had a green thumb and loved tending to her garden and lawn, which was always in full bloom. She had a kind and generous soul, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Richard Womble and Alta Oleta Womble, brothers Winston Dellos Womble and Delbert Eugene Womble, sister Beatrice Archer and husband Charles Winford Hill Sr.
She is survived by brothers Eldon Womble and Altos Womble, children Mark Wood, Sharon Wood and partner Margie Harner and Keith Wood and wife Keri, step-children Bubba Hill and wife Kim and Dana Hill Sebring, grandchildren Christy Sanders and husband Art, Jason Wood, Ashleigh Wood and wife Katy Jordan, Kyle Wood and wife Kristen, Kelci Brown and husband Ryan and Jackson Hill great-grandchildren Tylyn Beall, Braxton Beall, Zackery Beall, Lathan Brown and Kase Wood.
