Edward H. Hughes, of Kemp, formerly of Oak Cliff, passed away Oct. 9, 2023 in Tyler at the age of 54.
Edward was born Aug. 5, 1969 in Dallas to James Edward Hughes and Mollie Naomi Chereé Kitchens.
He graduated from Kimball High School in Dallas and then went on to work as a Field Supervisor at Statewide Remodeling for almost 20 years.
Once he retired, he discovered a newfound joy in glass blowing, which led him to becoming the owner and operator of his own business, The Pipe Shop in Seven Points. Here he got to share his art with the local community, build relationships and teach classes as a glass blowing instructor.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing on the lake down the road from his home, hunting, sport kayaking, glass blowing, gardening and any project that anyone needed help with.
Edward was one of a kind and would do anything for those that he cared about. His loving spirit will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents and brother James E. Hughes II.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Heather G. Hughes, beloved children Emily Arlene Paxton-Hughes and Jason Edward Hughes, sisters Carol Williams, Evelyn McDaniel, Naomi Herrera, Lois Smith and Bonnie K. Collins, numerous other extended family members and too many loving friends to name.
Your sympathy in our recent loss will long be remembered. Thank you sincerely for all you have done for us in our time of need. We deeply appreciate your kindness.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2023 at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield. Interment will follow at Skyvue Memorial Gardens in Mansfield.
