Edwin David Slaydon, Jr., passed from this life April 25, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 15, 1943, in Dallas to Edwin David, Sr. and Mary Alice (Wall) Slaydon. 
He grew up in Dallas for 10 years before moving to California and graduating from Polytechnic High School in Long Beach. While living in California he would meet a neighbor, Sandra Williams, at the age of 12, and they would walk to school together for years. 
After high school, Sandra and Ed would marry August 6, 1961, being blessed with 63 wonderful years together. 
Ed loved watching football, being an avid Cowboys fan, while also enjoying bowling, camping and fishing during his free time. Gardening was one of Ed’s specialties, his yard was always beautiful, and he was praised every year for having the best Christmas decorations.  
Ed was preceded in death by his treasured son Edwin David Slaydon, III, parents and brother Charles Slaydon.
He is survived by his beloved wife, daughters Mary Abel and Robin Cassidy, son Michael Slaydon, 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brother Ernie Slaydon and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
