Graveside services for Erma Reynolds, 84, of Eustace, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at Payne Springs Cemetery, with Troy Allen officiating. The services are under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reynolds passed away Jan. 20, 2025, in Eustace.
Erma Rebecca (Campbell) Reynolds was born Nov. 17, 1940, in Cotton Valley, La., to Oscar Alex Campbell and Emma Rebecca (Boies) Campbell.
She graduated from Carthage High School and, as a teenager, attended the Louisiana Hayride, where she saw Elvis perform before he became famous.
Erma later attended business school in Houston, where she met the love of her life, Jimmy Reynolds. Throughout their marriage, they moved around Texas due to Jimmy's job but eventually settled in Eustace to raise their family.
Together, they operated several businesses. Erma had a passion for sewing, needlepoint, reading and going on trips with her husband. She also enjoyed doing arts and crafts projects with her granddaughter.
A long-time member of the Payne Springs United Methodist Church, she embodied the qualities of a Proverbs 31 woman—kind, caring, generous, and a devoted caretaker. Erma was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brothers Marvin Campbell, Don Campbell and Lynn Campbell.
Survivors include her children Pam Allen and husband Troy of Eustace and Polly Perkins and husband Forrest of Mabank, granddaughter Haley Allen of Payne Springs, siblings Janice Ivey and husband Jay of Midland, Sara Beth McMillan and husband Shelby of Carthage and James Campbell of Carthage and her special friend Leslie Mullins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Payne Springs United Methodist Church, the Methodist Children’s Home, The Randy Travis Foundation, or The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
