Evelyn Rose Smithey
Evelyn was born in Claremore, Oklahoma to Mary Sue Smithey and James Gordon Smithey. After being raised in Claremore, her family moved to Wisconsin where she graduated with Honors from Kickapoo High School. She then moved to Texas, where she spent many years in the Cedar Creek Lake Area.
Evelyn and Evelyn drove eighteen wheelers commercially for 20 years and loved to share their exciting stories surrounding that career. They were active members of Cedar Creek Lake United Methodist Church in Tool.
She is survived by her best friend of over 50 years, Evelyn Atkinson, her daughter, Valorie Rose Smithey Summers, many cousins, a niece, her four beloved dogs and four cats. She loved church, yard work, her pets, and family. If anyone needed something, Evelyn would try her best to make it happen. She was known by others as a kind and gentle person and will be missed by all.
Celebration of Life will be Saturday, October 24, 11:00 a.m. at Ceder Creek Lake United Methodist Church, 100 S. Old Indian Trail, Tool.
