Gregory Gardiner Ryan, 66, of Tool, passed away June 2, 2022. Gregory was born Dec. 12, 1955 to parents Bernard William Ryan and Eileen Louise Gardiner. 
He was a caring and doting husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. 
Gregory was adventurous and lived each day to the fullest enjoying water skiing, snow skiing and riding in his boat daily. Not only did he have the passion for boating but for cars, motorcycles and planes, as well. 
He shared his love for the water and outdoors as a swim instructor at the Cain Center in Athens, a Scout Master of the Eagle Scouts, as well as a water ski and snow ski trainer in his younger years. 
Gregory was a left handed pitcher in college, playing for Arizona State. His great athleticism got him drafted by the Giants and the Padres, lettered in baseball, basketball and football. 
Gregory praised his Lord faithfully at the St. Jude Catholic Church in Gun Barrel City. His memories will live forever in the hearts of those he touched, throughout his lifetime. 
Gregory was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife Tuddy Ryan of Tool, sons Sean Ryan and wife Sarah of Coppell and Chip Herring and wife Katherine of Ridgeland, Miss., daughter Shannon Ryan and partner Michael Sheehan of New York, N.Y., brother Scott Gardiner Ryan and wife Cindy of San Clemente, Calif., sister-in-law Donna Kaye Herring of Ridgeland, Miss., grandchildren Blaire, Katie and Anne Travis Herring, niece Caroline Woodruff and husband Braden of Flower Mound. 
A Celebration of Life service was held June 5, 2022.
