Howard L Buck
Howard L Buck, 86, passed away Feb. 15, 2023. Born in 1936 in Littlefield, son of Loyd R Buck and Nealy Sutherland.
Howard had a lengthy career with the U.S. Postal Service serving in Amarillo, El Paso and as a Railway Mail Clerk, riding trains, sorting mail between towns. He also served as Postmaster of Casper, Wyo., Billings, Mont. and Salt Lake City, Utah, ending as District Manager of the North Texas District in Dallas. Retiring in 1990, he worked four years as a project manager for Lockheed in Arlington before moving to Cedar Creek Lake.
He was a Master Mason with over 50 years membership in San Jacinto Lodge 1330 in Amarillo and Cedar Creek Lake Lodge 1431.
A member of the First Christian Church in Kaufman, serving as an elder and trustee and a loyal Republican and proud American.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Kenneth and Gene, daughter Tami Thomas and granddaughter Lauren Kiefer.
He is survived by wife Barbara (Powers), stepdaughters Tammy (Tom) Kiefer of Arlington and Tina Rollins of Phoenix, grandchildren Evan Kiefer, Nathan Rollins and Emily (Nathan) Rollins Saucedo of Prescott, Ariz., two great-granddaughters and his family in Loveland, Colo., son Perry (Betty) Buck, grandson Grant (Jessie) Thomas and two great-granddaughters.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023 with a service at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Kaufman, 504 S Houston.
In lieu of flowers, a love gift can be made to the First Christian Church in his name.
