Jean Evelyn Cole (née Lane) passed away peacefully Sept. 12, 2024, in Gun Barrel City at the age of 93. She was born May 13, 1931, in Lubbock. 
Jean's long life was marked by her warmth and dedication to her community. She loved reading the Bible and having Bible study with friends. As a Christian, she spent her life witnessing to as many people as she could. She was very active in her community at the assisted living she called home.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and brother Billy Lane.
She is survived by daughters Susan Kay Stewart of Trinidad and Linda Jean Johnson of Trinidad, grandchildren Christy Doss, Melissa Perry, Rebecca Johnson and Mikael Johnson, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sept. 21, 2024 at Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home and interment followed at Trinidad Cemetery with Bro. Charles Kimble officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the SPCA in Jean's memory, honoring her love for animals.
