Jo Ann Wells, 80, of Mabank affectionately,”Jody,” passed Oct. 24, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 26, 1943 in Dallas to her late parents George and Oneida Benker.
Jo Ann was raised in Dallas and attended Crozier Tech High School. She married her late husband, Charlie D. Wells Aug. 10, 1968. They raised their daughter and founded the Access Floor Specialist business, which later became Allied Interiors in the Dallas area from which she retired.  
Jo Ann lived in Dallas until moving permanently to Mabank in 1999, after her husband Charlie passed.  
She enjoyed traveling and sight seeing, she had many hobbies, including crochet, sewing, cooking, bingo, slot machines and she had a soft spot for antiques. Her family especially loved her Thanksgiving dressing and banana pudding. Jo Ann loved her family dearly and enjoyed any occasion for them to make memories together.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by grandson Richard Bell, one sister and four brothers. 
Jo Ann is survived by her daughter Tammy and husband Troy Bell, grandchildren Coty Sedlock and husband Patrick, Troy D. Bell, Jr., Jordan Sepulvado and Kimberly Rosales, great-grandchildren Patrick and Lillian Sedlock. Jo Ann leaves behind many other relatives and friends.
Jo Ann’s visitation will be at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2023 at the Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home, 601 State Hwy 198 in Mabank. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023 at Oak Grove Memorial Park, 1413 E. Irving Blvd. in Irving.
