John Allen Manning
John Allen Manning, 84, of Mabank passed away Aug. 14, 2025. He was the husband of Ralaine Reynolds Manning.
Born July 10, 1941, in Edmond, Okla., John was the son of the late John Palmer Manning and Martha Lee Allen Manning.
John attended Mabank Public Schools, graduating in 1959. After graduation, he attended HCJC (TVCC) for two years. He then enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served two years before being Honorably Discharged.
During his service, he and Ralaine were married July 14, 1962. After his military service, they went on together to Stephen F. Austin University, both receiving their teaching degrees in 1967.
They began their teaching careers at Avinger ISD, moving to Union Grove ISD for a short period, then they moved back to Mabank where he taught Agriculture and Auto Mechanics for 30 years.
After retiring, he started Manning Dairy Farm with his brother Tommy and operated that for roughly 19 years.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, RVing, flying airplanes, time outdoors, doing anything with cows and tractors, watching westerns on TV and resurrecting old equipment to working order. He was a faithful member of the First Methodist Church in Mabank since 1953.
Along with his wife of 63 years, John is survived by his daughter Keitha and husband Wayne Adams, their children Mikayla, Mackenzie and Dane Adams, son Scott Manning and his son Brady Manning, brother Robert Manning, his wife Kathryn, kids Susan and Matt Winkelvoss and Mark and Cindy Manning, brother Tommy Manning, his wife Rhonda, kids Lauren and Ryan Hall, Nancy and Dustin Clark and Valerie and Katlin Horwood. Also included are many great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025 at First Methodist Church of Mabank. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
