Jonathan Isaac Monroe, 25, Alexis Morgan Monroe, 23 and Jaxson Isaac Monroe, three, passed away Dec. 15, 2023.
Jonathan was born at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler April 28, 1998. His wife Alexis, 23, was born in Mesquite Jan. 24, 2000. Together, they celebrated the birth of their son Jaxson, three, at UT Health East Texas in Athens Oct. 9, 2020.
The one thing that comes to mind when describing the Monroe family is “sunshine.” No matter where they were, they were always surrounded by warmth and light.
Jonathan and Alexis met when they were 14 and 16. From that moment on, they have been inseparable. It was the kind of love that everyone dreams of. The one that no matter what was going on, they were always there for each other. Whatever door they went through they went through it together.
When they welcomed their son Jaxson into the world, their love grew even more. Jonathan and Alexis’ greatest achievement was their little family.
Life became about living beyond themselves. Everything they did was with love. They knew no stranger. Jonathan and Alexis were always there to help others in any way they could. Not only were they incredibly loved, so was Jaxson.
He had a smile that would light up the room. The spark in their eyes when they all looked at one another was undeniable. So, while their lives may have been lost at such a young age, they never had to experience the loss of their love for one another.
Jonathan, Alexis and Jaxson were preceded in death by Jonathan’s grandfather Billy M. Rasco, Alexis’ grandparents Earl Parker and Freda Parker, Betty Zaro and other relatives that have passed.
Jonathan, Alexis and Jaxson are survived by Jonathan’s parents Diane Monroe and James Monroe, brother David Monroe and other extended family, Alexis’ parents April Robinson and Gregory Meadows, siblings Jessica Pisko, Clint Robinson, Bobby Meadows and Dillan Meadows, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family Sherri Smart and Cody Cook, Keisha Arellano, Kendall Price and extended family.
Funeral services are being held under the direction of Moorhead Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, followed by a memorial service at noon. Inurnment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery of Mabank.
